Delta is going to be the first US airline to support Wifi access on all its domestic flights by summer 2009. This announcement is good news for travelers looking for in-flight access to web, e-mail, IM, VPN and SMS. The price is not too bad either. It is only $9.95 for flight under 3 hours.

In Aug 2008, American Airlines has finally launched its in-flight Internet access service via Wi-Fi on 15 of its 767-200 airplanes. The service, called Gogo, will be offered on nonstop flights between New York and San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, and New York and Miami. The cost is $12.95 per flight. Passengers will be able to sign up when they boot up their browsers.

Absolutely. The airline industry is very competitive. Besides, the in-flight wifi technology is very accessible. Internet connectivity is very important to business travelers, so it will make a lot of sense to have it. I won't mind paying an extra $10.

I think most travelers want to have wifi on the plane. There is certain demand for this service.
