What is ZiiTrend?
Will Obama or McCain receive the most POPULAR votes?
voteSense ( Score Rank: #319 based on predictions in the last 30 days ) voteSense  |  was scored on 05-Nov-2008 (15 days ago)
Remember the tight game of Election 2004? In the American system of presidential elections, the electoral vote determines the winner, and Bush won this count, although Gore received the most votes (called the "popular vote"). This was the fourth time in American history that a candidate won the presidency without receiving at least a plurality of the popular vote; it also happened in the elections of 1824, 1876 and 1888.

Will Obama or McCain receive the most votes?

Even in the two elections that the Republicans have won, the Democrats have done well in the popular vote. In this election that seems to be leaning towards the Democrats so far, I think it would be somewhat safe to predict, at this stage of the election, that the Democrats will win the popular vote.

surely Obama will win in popular votes - but it is a bit tricky to predict the results of electoral vote.
